Your First USS Fletcher Reunion

Attending your first USS Fletcher Reunion is easy. Here’s the basic information you’ll need to get involved.

Hotel Room:  Call the hotel at the listed number and reserve your room at the group rate for however many nights you plan on attending.  Most reunions are for four nights but you can stay for however many nights you want. In most cases you can come early or stay late at the group rate if you wish to tour the area on your own.

Tours: Most reunions offer a couple of optional tours of the area or special events.  They are a great way to interact with other members. An activity fee form is linked from the current reunion page which can be printed and used to pay the tour fees in advance and before the given deadline.

Business Meeting: A general business meeting for members of the Fletcher Reunion Group is normally held on the morning of the last full day of the reunion. All members and potential members are encouraged to attend.  This is where we vote on new officers and discuss reunion group business.

Banquet: The main event is a banquet on the final evening of the reunion. This is where we meet to have dinner, a celebrate the end of another successful reunion. If you can attend only one event, this is the one you won’t want to miss.  Advance reservations and payment are required via the same activity fee form used for the tours. You can also select your main menu item on the form for yourself and others in your party.  The attire is up to you, some wear casual clothing and others dress up.

Hospitality Room:  At each reunion there is a Hospitality Room where everyone can congregate and swap sea stories and make new friends.  Drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are available along with a few snacks.

History Room: This room is where photos, models, books and cruise books are displayed along with other artifiacts concering the history of both ships. If you have something to display, bring it and let others view it.  Sometimes movies are shown and a few specail items such as hats are offered for sale.

Membership in the Fletcher Reunion Group is not required to attend our reunions but since former crew of either the DD/DDE-445 or DD-992 can join for the balance of the first year free there’s no reason not to sign up now. Visit the
how to join page for more information on how to join or to renew a membership. New memberships and renewals can also be taken care of in person at the reunion.

See you there!
